Description

Hey, thanks for considering the 20 lb. Timberline Beef Bundle (E).

We'd love to send this product anywhere, but we're required to only ship to WI address only due to state codes.  If this product will not be shipped to a WI address, please select another product.  We have different bundle options available.

The Family Farm Pantry team thanks you.

This really is good, old-fashioned 'Beef Bliss'.

Our delicious Red Angus Beef are 100% Grass-Fed & Grass-Finished on lush pasture in Southwest Wisconsin. This beef is produced on small family farms in a sustainable manner that eliminates the need for chemicals, steroids, hormones, antibiotics, GMO's, harmful injections, bleaches, dyes and grains.

  • Our angus beef is pure, humanely raised, harvested locally, processed by hand and offered in bundled packages and select cuts.
  • Expect none of the 'bad stuff' from Family Farm Pantry beef: Local grocery stores can provide beef that were fed sub-par grains, soy, corn, and more hormones to fatten the cattle up, and antibiotics or harmful injections. There are no steroids, bleaches or dyes. (Yes, you can find these in the beef at your local grocery store.)
  • Pasture-Raised ... Our animals do not come from feedlots, where large numbers of cattle are intentionally put in small lots and fed.
  • Our beef is naturally foraged in fields which are NEVER treated or sprayed with synthetic herbicides or fertilizers. NO chemicals are applied in our fields nor on our foods.
  • Cattle raised on pasture improves the welfare of the animals, supports small farms, and helps sustain rural communities.
  • One of our goals is to work alongside incredible Amish small farmers and their hard-working families here in Southwest Wisconsin to produce all-natural, wonderfully-tasting food. And to make the story unique, the entire growing and production processes are done without the use of conventional vehicles, and technology, like phones and computers.

We offer a variety of beef bundles to choose from. To see if this product is the right match for you, download our Beef Bundle Comparison PDF .

Some folks can taste the difference between red angus meats and jersey meats . We offer you the chance to enjoy both.

NOTE: At times we may have to substitute one cut for another,

but bundles will always weigh in at 20 pounds or above.

How We Ship

How Your Products are Shipped

We are proud to work alongside our Amish producers.

SUMMARY
Our goal is to deliver your products in a timely fashion. A trade-off exists between quality, hand-made foods vs. lightning-fast shipping. Beef is shipped out Mondays & Wednesdays , excepting holidays.

The Journey Begins with Farming Families

Our products are made in partnership with small Amish family farms here in Wisconsin. These farmers are hard-working, kind, & positive folks who give us their best.

  • The 'Trade Off': The culture of our local Amish producers does not allow for modern day tech, like computers, smartphones, & telephones in their homes. The solution? We do it the old fashioned way. We meet with our farmers twice a week and hand deliver your order to be sure that it recieves the attention it deserves. Our committment to quality is not only directed to the product but to the fulfilment and delivery of your order.
  • This Trade Off means: Compared to today's lightning-fast shippers, our products could take a bit longer to arrive.

Beef & Pork Shipping Map

  • Solution: Spee Dee Delivery will deliver beef & pork products, at reasonable rates.
  • Logistics: We only deliver to ZIP codes that are within the green area on the following map.

Pickup is local to folks in the Prairie du Chien, WI (SW Wisconsin) area, 1 day/week.

Cooking Instructions & Recipes

Cooking Your Grass-Fed Beef

Summary

Grass-Fed Beef requires some modification to the way that it is cooked. We have useful knowledge & techniques for you to consider.

Grass-Fed Beef is exactly as it sounds: beef cattle raised on pasture grass.

Compared to cattle raised on grains & GMO's , Grass-Fed Beef has less fat, & has more "good fats" and Omega 3's.

  • Lower Fat:
Fat in beef gives flavor & tenderness. Meat lacking fat could spell trouble if some simple steps are not applied. Your "general goals" are to keep your beef as reasonably moist as you can (regardless of how you cook it), use a cooking temp of about 50 °F less of your usual cooking temp, and cook for 30% less time.
  • Why We Cook:
Cooking: (a) kills off potentially harmful bacteria, and (b) changes the beef to give good flavor & texture for digestion. An external temp of 160 °F and an internal temp of 145 °F should do the trick. BUT, ground beef should have an internal temperature of 160 °F.
  • Cooking Temps:
    • 50 °F Lower than usual: Because this beef is lean, higher temps can easily cook off beef fat resulting in a dry, tough piece of meat. Seasoned cooks: use "rare to medium-rare temps".
    • Use a meat thermometer. Knowing the internal temp of the meat can help you cook it just the way that you like it. Cook your beef having the internal temperature of your meat be on or near:

      • Rare: 120 °F
      • Medium Rare: 125 °F
      • Medium: 130 °F
      • Medium Well: 135 °F
      • Well: 140 °F
  • Thawing:
    • Leave frozen beef in your fridge for several hours to slowly thaw & keep it's moisture.
    • Never microwave beef to speed up thawing, as it can cause meat to become tough, & to reduce valuable moisture.
    • Allow your beef to be at room temp before cooking. It will take less time to reach the desired internal temp, as shown above.
  • Cooking Time:
    • This beef cooks about 30% faster than common store-bought, grain-fed beef.
  • Beef Cuts:
    • Tender Meats (Ribeye, filet mignon, strip steaks, sirloin steaks): Sear both sides to seal in moisture. Stoves: you can do this in a pan. Ovens: use the broil feature. Grills: brown over a hotter area & then move to a cooler section to finish cooking.
    • Less Tender Meats (chuck, round, flank skirt steaks, brisket, hanger steaks): Slow cooking at lower temps, marinade, tenderizing & rubs = better results
  • Cooking After Removal from the Heat:
    • Try this - remove beef when your meat thermometer reads 10 °F below your target temp.
    • Cover for at least a 5-10 minutes for the beef to finish cooking.

Return Policy

What is the Family Farm Pantry “Returnless” Return Policy?

At Family Farm Pantry, we strive to make returns as easy as we can. Our mission is to provide you with the best products, and the best service that we Wisconsinites can. :-)

  • After opening one of our products, and you feel that there is a problem with the taste, the appearance, or any other quality issue, we will replace, exchange for an item(s) of equal or lesser value, or provide a Family Farm Pantry store credit. You get to make the choice of the option that you prefer.
  • If for any reason you are not completely satisfied with either A) a product or B) an item in a product “bundle” (e.g. like a 3-pack jam, or a multi-granola sampler), and your product(s) have not yet reached their expiration date(s), we’d love to work to make things right. Note that if you have ordered a product that is really a “bundled item”, check out the next question about bundled products.
  • In most instances, we will not ask you to return products.
  • For very large quantity order returns (i.e. including wholesale and institutional customers), simply contact our Family Farm Pantry support team.
  • If a return is required, the value of a returned item does not include the value of the original shipping charges. We are not responsible for shipping costs other than due to our own mistake.
  • There may be non-returnable/exchangeable products & services that may be offered on our website. It will indicate clearly in the product description if a different return policy applies.

What happens with a Return if I order a product that is in reality a product that contains Bundled (multiple) items, but not all of the items need to be returned?

Great question! Let’s say that you order something like a 3-pack of jam, or a multi cheese sampler from the Family Farm Pantry, and one or three items do not satisfy?

  • We will gladly work to replace the item(s), exchange for an item(s) of equal or lesser value, or offer you a Family Farm Pantry Store Credit for the individual item(s) that do not meet your satisfaction.
  • But on the other hand, if some of the items in a bundled product do meet your satisfaction, then we will work to only address your dissatisfied items. Like any return with the Family Farm Pantry, we will offer the choice of replacing the item(s), to exchange with items of equal or lesser value, or offer you a store credit for the value of the dissatisfied items.

How do I initiate a Replacement, an Exchange, or Obtaining a Store Credit for undesirable items?

You may start this process by doing one of the following:

  1. Log in to your account on the Family Farm Pantry website.
  2. Call our Family Farm Pantry support number at (608) 537-3770

What if I decide to cancel the order before it arrives on our doorstep?

  • This gets a little tricky for us. Because of the way that we fulfill orders, once an order is placed many separate actions are done by people in different geographic locations - many of those remote locations are not equipped with telephone or computer capabilities. In some instances, a FFP product can literally be hand-made to order by hard-working small Wisconsin farmers soon after your order is received. We’re not kidding. (To be safe, we want to be transparent and say that not all orders are hand-made the day of the order.)
  • Cancelling orders is a very labor-intensive process for both the hard-working small farmers and staff of the Family Farm Pantry. Order cancellations can only be requested prior to shipment.

What if one or more Family Farm Pantry products in your order arrive on your doorstep damaged?

While we take steps to reduce and eliminate damaged deliveries, they sometimes happen. If one or more individual items in your order arrived damaged, we kindly ask for the following:

  1. Take a photo that clearly and adequately shows the damaged items and send to [email protected] Please do this while avoiding injury to yourself or others (e.g. without cutting yourself on, say, broken glass, and so on).
  2. Send the picture to us at [email protected], with an explanation of how it arrived, and the order number listed on your packing list or purchase email.
  3. A friendly member of our Family Farm Pantry support team will work to process this as soon as possible, whether you choose a replacement, an exchange for an item of equal or lesser value, or Family Farm Pantry store credit.

Note: We will work with you when there are times when a specific replacement is just not possible. For example, you order a delicious jar of our Strawberry Jam, and it arrives damaged. If the Strawberry Jam is out of season and there are no jars left, we will work with you to get an exchange for a different item of equal or lesser value, or offer you a store credit. We want to make things right for you!
